Overview
Our practice areas often entail litigation on behalf of our clients. Much of that litigation involves unique remedies and procedures that apply to the general civil litigation practice. At the same time, we do not handle some of the more general litigation. We do not handle criminal law, personal injury, and family law, for example. Through the years, our attorneys have tried administrative cases, judge-tried (non-jury) cases and jury trials. We have represented clients in both state and federal courts. We also have a substantial experience at the appellate level, with our attorneys briefing and/or arguing over 100 cases before all three districts of the Missouri Court of Appeals, the Kansas Supreme Court, the U.S. Circuit Court for the Eighth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Our clients at both the trial court and appellate levels have included direct parties to the suits, but we also frequently represent amicus curiae (Friend of the Court) parties who have a special interest in a case and a special viewpoint they want presented in the form of a brief.
We are also available to serve as local counsel in Cole County or Missouri counsel for out-of-state attorneys seeking to represent clients in Missouri on a pro hac vice basis.
